William Hill Sponsors Spring Festivals Trials Day at Naas Racecourse

Naas Racecourse’s manager, Aidan McGarry, said that the course has cemented itself as a “notorious nursery of champions,” both over jumps and on the flat

William Hill, a leading gaming and betting operator in the United Kingdom and Ireland, will sponsor the Spring Festivals Trials Day at Naas Racecourse. The sportsbook reiterated its commitment to Irish racing as the course designated itself as a “notorious nursery of champions.”

William Hill Will Add Four Races to Its Sponsorship Portfolio

According to the official announcement, the festival will bear the operator’s name and will be known as the William Hill Spring Festivals Trials Day. Set to take place on February 23, the event will bolster William Hill’s portfolio of racing sponsorships.

In total, William Hill will add four races to its sponsorship portfolio in Ireland, including the following:

  • The Grade 3 William Hill Winning Fair Juvenile Hurdle
  • The William Hill Nas Na Riogh Novice Handicap Chase
  • The William Hill Handicap Hurdle
  • The William Hill (Pro/Am) Flat Race

Naas Racecourse added that the previous racing season saw Bottler’secret win the event that will now be known as the Grade 3 William Hill Winning Fair Juvenile Hurdle. The Gavin Cromwell trainee also landed a Grade 2 at Fairyhouse’s Easter Festival and finished second in Grade 1 company at the Punchestown Festival.

The course also mentioned Carefully Selected, Gerri Colombe, Stellar Story and William Munny as popular winners of the William Hill (Pro/Am) Flat Race.

Limerick Lace, on the other hand, prevailed at the previous William Hill Nas Na Riogh Novice Handicap Chase and went on to win at the Cheltenham Festival.

A Real Springboard for Future Stars

Naas Racecourse’s manager, Aidan McGarry, said that the course has cemented itself as a “notorious nursery of champions,” both over jumps and on the flat. He added that the Festivals Trials Day in February is “perfectly timed” with the “right type of races for horses to go on and win some valuable jumps races at the major spring festivals.”

McGarry said that his team is pleased to welcome William Hill as a sponsor, praising the operator’s long-term commitment to racing. He added that he could not wait to see the horses from Naas Racecourse’s fixture on February 23 go on to compete at other festivals, including the William Hill-sponsored Cheltenham and Punchestown.

In the meantime, William Hill Ireland’s head of marketing, Andrew McCleave, said that the operator is thrilled to become the sponsor of the Spring Festivals Trial Days. McCleave noted that the past few years have seen the card serve as a “real springboard for future stars.”

We also see this raceday as a fantastic addition to William Hill’s Irish sponsorship roster, which is headed by our headline season support of Dundalk Stadium and the William Hill Champion Chase at the Punchestown Festival.

McCleave added that William Hill will continue to champion Irish racing through its sponsorships and ambassadorial deals with the likes of Gavin Cromwell and Keith Donoghue.
