The Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tampa has unveiled a refurbished venue featuring 240 refreshed rooms, new food court, and almost 350 new slot machines.
Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino TampaOpens Refurbished Section
Ever since the COVID-19 pandemic, one of the most popular Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tampa venues has stayed closed. This all changed on January 23 as the company unveiled more than $65 million worth of renovations and upgrades. According to officials, the renovated west tower of the facility will open 200 new jobs in the area.
Officials explained that there are now 240 upgraded rooms in the facility which are now fully non-smoking. This coincides with a larger movement to minimize or end smoking in casinos. A recently proposed Mississippi bill plans to end smoking in casinos in the Magnolia state, further moving the gambling industry in that direction.
Back to the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino upgrades, the company’s president Steve Bonner explained they are excited about bringing their services to a new level. He further explained that this was the pinnacle of a project that had several stumbling blocks until it was finished. One of these was finding enough staff after the COVID pandemic as that was a time when many restaurants were struggling to find and keep workers.
Bonner and his team opted to reopen the venue just eight weeks ago, attributing this decision to the recovering economy.
What Does the Renovated Venue Offer?
Aside from the 240 renewed rooms, the venue also offers a fully renovated food court with six stations called the Fresh Harvest Buffet. It proved to be quite popular on the opening day as there was a growing line in front of it before the official 11.30 AM opening hour of the casino.
The renovated venue’s gaming floor now has almost 350 multi-denominational slot machines. Just over a year ago, the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino also introduced live craps, roulette, and sports betting. According to Bonner, the new slots area adds a lot to the fully integrated casino experience for the guests.
The new area’s machines accept bets ranging from one penny to $5, with maximum bets up to $100. It also offers several of the very popular Dragon Link slots, which, according to Hard Rock, awarded 10 jackpots of $1 million or more last year.
All of these additions boost the capacity of the resort by a lot. Now, the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino has a total of 5,230 slot machines, 168 table games, a poker room with 46 tables, and 13 restaurants.
And to top it all off, the new venue’s lobby features a 24-karat gold leaf grand piano that used to belong to Elvis Presley.
