Reno Pro Soccer Submits Northern Nevada Stadium & Entertainment District Plans

The project will also bring men’s professional soccer to the city, allowing it to participate in the USL Championship

Reno Pro Soccer, a group seeking to return USL Professional Soccer to Northern Nevada, announced that it has reached a “major milestone” in these efforts. According to the group’s latest announcement, it has submitted “key project entitlements” for its planned soccer stadium and entertainment district.

Reno Pro Soccer to Bring Soccer & Entertainment

Reno Pro Soccer emphasized that its vision has always been to lead to the creation of a new complex that will serve as a year-round destination for soccer and entertainment. The plans, therefore, outline the construction of a stadium and entertainment district, which would “reflect Reno’s energy, pride, and growth.”

The first phase of Reno Pro Soccer’s plans would turn the Jones West Ford site, currently a vacant parcel, into what the group called a “vibrant hub for community, sport, economic activity, and regional attraction.”

The initial phase of the project will also include a casino.

In addition to cementing Reno as a destination for sports and tourism, the development is also expected to have a positive economic impact on the area. According to Reno Pro Soccer, the new complex would create many new jobs while delivering significant revenue to the local tax coffers.

A Breakdown of Phase 1

Reno Pro Soccer listed the major highlights of Phase 1 of the development of the Jones West Ford side, which include the creation of the sole soccer-specific stadium in Nevada. The planned stadium will have more than 6,000 seats and will boast premium suites and club seating.

The project will also bring men’s professional soccer to the city, allowing it to participate in the USL Championship.

Additionally, the entertainment district will be a walkable place with bars, restaurants, multiple shops, a family-focused entertainment venue, and community spaces for events and gatherings. The district will also include a 301-room hotel, allowing it to accommodate visitors all year round. A parking lot with 1,200 spaces, on the other hand, will facilitate visitation.

As mentioned, the district will also have a Dean DiLullo-operated casino, providing extra entertainment options to tourists and locals alike.

Reno Pro Soccer predicted that its project would create as many as 1,100+ jobs.

Exciting Times for Reno Soccer Fans

Reno Pro Soccer’s ambitious project is currently awaiting final regulatory approvals. If greenlit, the project’s construction would kick off soon. Reno Pro Soccer noted that demolition works on the site are currently ongoing.

In the meantime, Reno Pro Soccer promised to continue to engage the community via events, surveys, and various activations. Fans can look forward to FIFA World Cup watch parties, as well as to the upcoming reveal of the name, crest, and identity of Reno’s USL Championship club.
