Playtech Live Casino Studio Set to Launch in Michigan

Gambling technology company Playtech announced in a news release today it secured a long-term lease in Michigan to enable the launch of the company’s first Live Casino in the country.

Best-In-Class Live Gaming

The Playtech Live Casino studio set to operate from Southfield, an area in Michigan that is fast turning into a technology and innovation hub, will be one of the largest live entertainment studios in the state.

“The new studio in Michigan is the first step in our US Live expansion as we look to deliver Live studios in all regulated states. Our Michigan studio is being designed to be one of the more sophisticated studios tailored to the US market featuring innovation and entertainment at its best.”

Shimon Akad, COO, Playtech

Featuring the best from Playtech’s flagship studio in Riga, Latvia, via video technology, the Live Casino studio will offer integrated live content for retail and online operators in different product verticals – versatility in iGaming unseen so far in any US gaming jurisdiction.

“The scale of our technology and breadth of our product will allow Playtech to take the live iGaming experience in the US to the next level.”

In addition, operator dedicated and networked tables will feature in bespoke areas in the studio, as Playtech is looking to grow and expand operations in the US.

Besides offering the best in class live gaming entertainment, the new Live Casino studio will play a social role in the state by creating local employment opportunities for the communities in Southfield during times in which uncertainty due to the effects of the coronavirus outbreak prevails across global markets.

“At Playtech, we pride ourselves in being a key member of all our communities and we are thrilled to be bringing employment opportunities to local communities as part of our expansion in the US.”

Expansion across the US Continues

The announcement for the upcoming Live Casino in Michigan is the latest development around Playtech’s strategy seeking to establish the company as a leading gambling technology provider in every licensed US jurisdiction.

Playtech entered the country in New Jersey, when the gambling supplier rolled out its casino content via bet365 in August last year, following the approval for its services from the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement (DGE) in June.

By the end of September 2020, Playtech expanded its presence in the Garden State via an agreement with the sports betting and iGaming brand of MGM Resorts and Entain, BetMGM, to roll out its online casino software to BetMGM Casino, Borgata Online, and PartyCasino NJ.

In Michigan, Playtech entered into a strategic partnership with Parx Casino in February to provide it with multiple products via Playtech’s IMS Platform set to launch together with online casinos in the state.
