MGM Resorts Las Vegas Properties Up Parking and Resort Fees

Starting today, Wednesday, December 4, MGM Resorts International will charge more for its Las Vegas properties. Resort fees at the Bellagio, Aria, Vdara, and Cosmopolitan in the city will go up to $55 per day, up from $50 previously.

Daily Resort Fees Go Up on the Strip, and MGM Won’t Be Last

In the meantime, daily resort fees at the MGM Grand, Mandalay Bay, and Delano will now go up from $5 to $50. Park MGM, Nomad and The Signature guests will also have to pay $50, but the increase there is up from the previously charged $42 for daily resort fees.

More properties are impacted, as the New York-New York, Luxor and Excalibur will also charge a $45 resort fee, a jump ranging from $3 and $8 previously. Resort fees are charged to guests to guarantee that certain amenities will always be available, including long-distance and domestic phone calls, WiFi access, access to the fitness center, Paramount+ and other perks.

As to the reason why this was necessary, MGM simply explained that it was following broader marketplace and pricing standards. Apart from resort fees, self-park visitors will also have to pay $20 from Monday through Thursday, and $25 on weekends, including Sunday.

Valet parking for hotel guests and visitors will be $40 at all of the company’s properties, which is one of the major price hikes, as previously some properties charged as little as $25, depending on the day of the week. However, not all is that bad.

MGM Brand Loyalty Pays Off in the Long Run

Members of the MGM Rewards program that have reached the Pearl Tier will be allowed to self-park for free, and free valet parking can be earned for anyone who makes it into the Gold Tier, or any tier above, offering guests another incentive to stick with the MGM brand and properties in the first place.

In the meantime, the United States military will remain free, including active personnel, veterans and spouses, owing to the MGM Rewards Military & Veterans Program. Locals who have a valid Nevada document authorizing their identity can still park at all properties for free for up to three hours.
