Reasons Why Odds Favor Jake Paul to Win on July 20

Jake Paul became famous for his YouTube work, but then he decided to make boxing his No. 1 focus. After beating fellow YouTuber KSI in an amateur match in 2018, he made his professional debut two years later against another social media star AnEsonGib.

He’s 9-1 in his career as a professional pugilist, with his only loss happening by points. This sounds impressive, but there’s a caveat. Most of his wins were against opponents with limited experience in boxing.

In fact, one may argue that his only proper opponent was Tommy Fury. Although Tyson Fury’s little brother isn’t an elite boxer, he is a professional who’s been fighting since he was a child. And this guy is the one who inflicted Paul his only loss thus far.

Paul was supposed to fight Mike Tyson this summer, but the 58-year-old had to postpone the fight for health reasons. As a result, Paul got himself a new opponent – Mike Perry.

Reasons Why Mike Perry is Out Pick

Mike Perry is 0-1 in pro boxing, losing his only bout by a knockout. However, that happened more than nine years ago. Since then, this guy fought in the UFC for five years. “Platinum” has a professional mixed martial arts record of 14-8, with 11 wins by KO/TKO. He only lost one MMA fight by this method – to Geoff Neal five years ago.

After wrapping up the UFC part of his career, he moved to the Bare-Knuckle Fighting Championship (BKFC). That’s where he’s 5-0 with three KO/TKO wins in a row.

Unlike Paul, Perry has fought some real tough guys in bare-knuckle boxing, including Luke Rockhold, Eddie Alvarez, and Thiago Alves.

Jake Paul vs. Mike Perry Prediction

Mike Perry hasn’t fought with gloves on in a while, so he might not find it easy to knock Jake Paul out. However, we do think he’s going to beat him up. Paul might be bigger and more powerful, but Perry is quicker with his hands and much tougher than him.

Plus, he’s got way more experience fighting at a top level. This is why our prediction is that he’s gonna be the guy to crush “the Problem Child’s” dreams.

Pick: Mike Perry
