Flutter Bolsters Leadership with Two New Non-Executive Directors

The company hopes to leverage the significant expertise of its new additions to bolster its strategic initiatives, using their new perspectives to achieve lasting success

Flutter Entertainment announced that its Board of Directors had appointed Robert R. Bennett (“Dob”) and Christine M. McCarthy as non-executive directors, effective immediately. Bennett will join the Risk and Sustainability Committee, while McCarthy will be part of the Audit Committee. These appointments align with Flutter’s recent drive to bolster its leadership core.

The Company Gains Two Seasoned Professionals

Christine McCarthy brings a wealth of financial expertise from her tenure at The Walt Disney Company, where she was the senior executive VP and CFO until June 2023. She continued as a strategic advisor to Disney until June 2024. Her career at Disney also included roles such as Executive VP, corporate real estate, alliances, and treasurer. Before Disney, she was the CFO of Imperial Bancorp.

McCarthy is a current director of The Procter & Gamble Company, chairing its Audit Committee, and a director at FM Global, where she chairs the Finance Committee. She also possesses a broad civic and educational background, occupying board positions at Westridge School and Carnegie Institution for Science, adding to her considerable management experience.

As a member of the Audit Committee, McCarthy will play a vital role in overseeing many aspects of the company’s activities and performance, such as financial reporting, independent and internal auditors, and ethics and compliance. Her impressive track record makes her more than qualified for the task, and she should be a valuable addition to the Flutter team.

Their Combined Insights Will Prove Invaluable

Robert Bennett is the managing director of Hilltop Investments, LLC, a private investment firm he has led since 2005. His extensive background includes serving as president of Discovery Holding Company and holding top executive roles at Liberty Media Corporation. Bennett also worked at Tele-Communications, Inc. and The Bank of New York.

In his new role, Bennett will help supervise Flutter’s risk management and corporate sustainability policies. John Bryant, chair of Flutter Entertainment, expressed his enthusiasm for the new appointments, adding that the two additions would significantly strengthen the company’s management team with the extensive insights accumulated throughout their impressive careers.

Both have experience and career backgrounds highly relevant to our business. We look forward to Dob and Christine joining the Flutter Board and contributing to the company’s future.

These additions align with Flutter’s recent drive to bolster its management team. June saw the company designate Mark Shaw as its new director of global payments strategy and Alan Shearer as a Betfair ambassador, highlighting its expansive nature. McCarthy and Bennett’s vast experience and strategic insights should be a significant boon to the company, further solidifying its global gaming and entertainment market position.
