FanDuel to Honor ‘American Underdog’ at FanFest Live Event

FanDuel, Flutter Entertainment’s US daily fantasy and sportsbook brand, announced its FanFest celebration on Saturday, December 11 at WestWorld in Scottsdale, Arizona will be presented by Lionsgate’s American Underdog movie.

Honoring ‘American Underdog’

The FanFest live event honoring the upcoming motion picture American Underdog as part of the collaboration between FanDuel and Lionsgate will feature exclusive performances from hip-hop star and Grammy Award winner Nelly and musician and DJ Gryffin while the film’s star Zachary Levi and Pro Football Hall of Famer Kurt Warner, as well as Arizona sports legends, will also take part. American Underdog is set to hit the theatres on Christmas Day.

American Underdog is an inspirational story about Kurt Warner, who against all odds managed to write his name in NFL’s Hall Of Fame as two-times MVP winner and Super Bowl Champion, rising from a stockboy in a supermarket to build a prominent career in sports. Zachary Levy is featured in the role of Kurt Warner in the film.

The event will bring plenty of entertainment, offering an interactive Q&A session with the participation of Kurt Warner and Zachary Levy with FanDuel’s Lisa Kerney, as well as a head-to-head quarterback challenge for charity purposes.

Throughout the day, there will be a variety of other activities for fans, including a meet-and-greet and Q&A session with former wide receiver for the Arizona Cardinals Anquan Boldin and Hall of Fame running back Edgerrin James, interactive sessions with players from the Phoenix Suns, free to play pick’em games in participation of celebrities and fans squaring off in live challenges, and others.

Visitors will have plenty of food and drinks at their disposal provided by local food trucks at FanDuel’s beer garden during the live event that is set to close with an exclusive performance by hip-hop icon and Grammy Award winner Nelly and a DJ set by Gryffin.

Affirming Arizona’s Presence

FanDuel launched in Arizona in September, offering both mobile and retail sports betting in partnership with Footprint Center, the home arena of the Phoenix Suns. FanDuel and the Phoenix Suns signed a 10-year market access deal earlier this year.

The sportsbook launch marked a first-of-its-kind partnership in which the retail sportsbook is directly integrated into the sports facility. The launch also made Arizona the 11th state to feature FanDuel’s sports betting platform.
