Drake Breaks Curse, Wins AU$700K at Crown Melbourne
A recent video released via the rapper's page on Instagram shows him dancing in an elevator while holding stacks of casino chips

Besides being a world-famous rapper, singer and actor, Drake is also a well-known high-stakes gambler. While some may be wondering if Drake is gambling too much, others are fascinated by his bold wagers, often betting hundreds of thousands of dollars at a time.
Now, Drake once again reaffirmed his affinity to gambling. This time, the famous rapper showed off a hefty win at an Australian casino.
The Hip-Hop Icon Scored AU$700K Win
In a video posted on Instagram earlier this week, Drake can be seen dancing in an elevator, while holding stacks of casino chips. Per local media reports, the famous rapper and his entourage recently visited Crown Melbourne. Not unexpectedly, Drake wanted to show off his gambling skills and this bold move paid off.
The video shows the famous rapper holding casino chips while a caption reads “700k for lunch.” Drake can be seen dancing in the elevator holding the stacks of chips, likely in celebration of his AU$700,000 ($435,000) recent win at Crown Melbourne.
The video was released on Wednesday, and it comes ahead of Drake’s Anita Max Win tour in the country. Not much else is known about the famous rapper’s hefty recent win. It remains unclear whether or not he played poker, blackjack or another table game to win the hefty payout right before lunch.
Breaking the Drake Curse
Drake has made news headlines regularly with hefty sums wagered on popular sports competitions. While the rapper likes to brag about his big bets, he also sustains big losses, fueling a popular belief called the “Drake curse,” which claims that if the hip-hop artist supports a team or an athlete, they will likely lose. The Drake curse gained popularity after the famous rapper lost a number of six-figure wagers.
Earlier this month, Drake put a $210,000 parlay wager on the Baltimore Ravens to win against the Pittsburgh Steelers and Lamar Jackson to score a touchdown. While the Ravens triumphed against the Steelers, Jackson didn’t score a touchdown. Had he reached the end zone, the wager on Stake would’ve paid off Drake an estimated $630,000.
Other notable losses sustained by the five-star Grammy winner include a $355,000 wager on Mike Tyson to beat Jake Paul. The match which was played late last year saw the latter triumph, resulting in a loss for Drake. In case Tyson had won the match against Paul, the rapper would’ve collected a sweet payout of more than $1 million.
