Country music icon Dolly Parton has bad news for her fans who were hoping to see her perform during her upcoming Las Vegas residency. The “9 to 5“ singer shared a special video to say she needs more time to recover before getting back on the stage.

“Responding Really Well to Meds”

The 80-year-old told fans she is “responding really well to meds and treatments,” but is not yet ready for live performances.

“I have some good news and a little bad news,” she said. “The good news is I’m responding really well to meds and treatments and I’m improving every day. The bad news is it’s gonna take me a little while before I’m up to stage performance level.”

Parton was supposed to perform six shows at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas from September 17 to 26, 2026. All shows had been sold out, and the residency had already been postponed once from an earlier December 2025 run.

The arist went on to explain that her doctors are optimistic about her recovery, despite the ongoing health challenges she is facing, including kidney stones and immune and digestive issues. Parton also noted that some of her medication has left her feeling “a little bit swimmy-headed.”

“I am truly sorry that I’m going to miss all of you who had tickets to see me in Las Vegas,” she said. “Well, you get on to Vegas, and you have a big time… I’ll see you somewhere down the line.”

No Rescheduled Dates Yet

For the time being, the six shows have not been rescheduled. According to Ticketmaster, customers who purchased tickets through the platform will receive refunds within two to three weeks.

The announcement follows months of concern among fans after Parton’s sister, Freida Parton, previously asked for prayers for the singer on social media.

Dolly later reassured fans that her condition was not as serious as some had feared, joking at the time, “I ain’t dead yet!”

Despite the setback, Parton said she remains in good spirits and focused on recovery, with hopes of returning to performing when she is fully ready.
