Caesars Indiana Shooter Sentenced to 45 Years in Prison

Charges against the second person, suspected of being involved in a deadly shooting at the casino's parking garage, are expected to be filed later this week

A man from Louisville, Kentucky, who pleaded guilty to the murder of a hip-hop artist at a southern Indiana casino, was recently sentenced to more than four decades in prison. The case involves a man with the initials A.P., who pleaded guilty to the crime that occurred at Caesars Southern Indiana’s parking garage earlier this year.

On Monday this week, the man was sentenced by a Harrison County judge to 45 years in prison, as announced by WDRB. The sentence carries no possibility for parole and follows the deadly shooting on March 17 that took the life of LilDon Williams, a husband, a father and a hip-hop artist.

The victim was followed after a concert taking place in Louisville. Williams visited the casino together with friends to celebrate but was stalked by A.P. together with another suspect.

The two culprits waited for the hip-hop artist at the casino’s parking garage for approximately three hours. Once Williams was walking to his car alone in the early morning hours on March 17, he was approached by A.P. and a second suspect. Both men opened fire on the victim with long-barrel guns, killing him on site.

Upon investigating the murder, the Louisville Metro Police Department used evidence from flock cameras and CCTV. They also utilized phone data that helped identify A.P.

Charges against the Second Shooter Are Expected This Week

During the sentencing on Monday, family members of the deceased victim were president. Williams’ wife, Rannisha, spoke to her husband’s murderer saying: “I hate you. I will always hate you.” Rannisha spoke about the heartbreaking crime that impacted her and the lives of her family. “I’m tired of going to court and getting the phone calls from police. I’m ready to start my grieving process,” she said.

Otto Schalk, Harrison County’s prosecutor, mentioned that the deadly shooting was a “revenge killing” but refrained from disclosing further information. He acknowledged that the case is still open, adding that he won’t disclose what he thinks the motif is.

Schalk said that the recent sentencing marks a major step in achieving justice for LilDon Williams. He outlined that he anticipates the second shooter to be charged “imminently.”

When asked what Schalk thinks the second shooter might be facing as charges, he said they are likely to be in the same ballpark as the ones against the first culprit. Finally, the prosecutor said that he expects to see all the pieces of the puzzle fit together by the end of the week with the charges against the second shooter.
