Texas is about to get a new tribal casino as the Alabama-Coushatta Tribe prepares to open its temporary facility in Leggett. The new property will offer provide guests with a glimpse at what the tribe has to offer before the opening of its permanent counterpart.
The Temporary Property Is Set to Go Live Soon
The Alabama-Coushatta Tribe’s new temporary property in Leggett, Polk County, is set to open within a few weeks, allowing visitors to have a taste of what’s coming when the tribe’s permanent property goes live.
The temporary facility will be located on existing tribal reservation land and will be open 24 hours a day. The property will boast some 300 electronic bingo machines, as well as a player’s club, a non-stop deli, and a fountain drink station.
The property will have roughly 300 parking spaces to accommodate guests’ vehicles.
The Temporary Property Will Benefit the Whole Community
In the meantime, the Alabama-Coushatta Tribe prepares to kick off the construction of its permanent property on June 18. The Naskila Casino Resort will be located just across from its temporary counterpart.
The Naskila Casino Resort in Leggett will expand the tribe’s gaming portfolio, allowing it to capitalize on the growing demand for gaming entertainment.
The tribe already operates the Naskila Casino and Ischoopa Travel Center near Livington, with the casino cementing itself as a popular spot for gaming and tourism. By opening a new Naskila property, the Alabama-Coushatta Tribe hopes to replicate this success.
However, the tribe will not be the only winners. According to tribal council chair Ricky Sylestine, the new property will not only benefit the Alabama-Coushatta Tribe, but also the entire community and the broader Polk County. According to him, the temporary property alone will create dozens of jobs and reinvigorate the local tourism sector.
The temporary casino will create 110 new jobs, strengthen local partnership, and establish a foundation for long-term tourism growth.
