WSOP Announces Dates and Key Updates for 56th Annual Series

The World Series of Poker (WSOP) has officially announced its 56th annual series, which will take place from 27 May to 16 July 2025 at Horseshoe Las Vegas and Paris Las Vegas, marking a triumphant return to the Strip. The 2025 WSOP promises to uphold its legacy as the pinnacle of poker tournaments, uniting players worldwide for weeks of intense competition, culminating in the prestigious 2 July Main Event.

WSOP Will Build upon Its Success

The Main Event Final Table will take place on 15 and 16 July at the Horseshoe Events Center. This marquee event has cemented its status as poker’s ultimate showdown, regularly drawing record-breaking attendance. In 2024, the WSOP Main Event set a new benchmark with 229,553 participants and an impressive $438 million in prize money awarded across all events.

While the complete schedule will become public in early 2025, WSOP has confirmed the return of some fan-favorite events. These include Mystery Millions, Millionaire Maker, and the Senior’s Championship. WSOP CEO Ty Stewart hinted an even grander spectacle was in the making, noting that 2025’s event would continue to iterate on past successes.

WSOP is taking a bold step to preserve the integrity of live poker with its recently updated rules. Rule 63b is an entirely new addition that takes a more aggressive stance regarding electronic assistance and coaching during tournament gameplay. This update answers the controversy created by the 2024 WSOP Main Event when Jonathan Tamayo’s $10 million victory faced allegations of electronic assistance.
