PointsBet Names Nic Sulsky Chief Commercial Officer
PointsBet named the industry veteran Nic Sulsky as its new chief commercial officer. In his new position, Sulsky will help the company build a unique leadership team to capture the potential of the growing Canadian market.
Industry Veteran Nic Sulsky Joins PointsBet as CCO
Premier global online gaming operator, PointsBet announced on Thursday that it hired the services of the industry veteran Nic Sulsky. Effective from June 8, Sulsky will serve as a chief commercial officer for the company’s Canadian operations.
Before joining PointsBet, Sulsky was employed by Monkey Knife Fight. The company was founded in 2018 and quickly became the third-largest daily fantasy operator in the United States. Only recently, in January, the company was purchased by Bally’s Corp in a deal for some $90 million. Furthermore, before that, Sulsky has also co-founded an innovative in-game fantasy platform dubbed InGamer. Consequently, the same platform inked a partnership with the CBC’s Hockey Night in Canada back in 2010.
PointsBet Remains Focused on Expanding in Canada
Commenting on the topic, Johnny Aitken, PointsBet USA CEO said that the company hopes that this hire may be the first of many for the Canadian market. Furthermore, he acknowledged that PointsBet aims at creating a leadership team that understands and “reflects the unique characteristics of the Canadian sports environment and its millions of loyal fans“. Aitken welcomed Sulsky to PointsBet’s team and acknowledged his deep understanding of the Canadian market.
“PointsBet is excited to welcome Nic to the team, adding strong talent that knows how to build first-class gaming brands while possessing a deep understanding of the Canadian landscape.”

Undoubtedly, Sulsky’s appointment proves PointsBet’s commitment to growing into the Canadian market. Currently, Bill C-218 is pending approval from the Senate in Canada. If the bill is approved, the country would legalize wagering on single sporting events. This, according to an analysis by PriceWaterhouseCoopers, dated February this year, may create more than 2,500 new jobs in Canada. Furthermore, the passing of the bill may result in significant growth in the sports betting industry in the country.
Sulsky Is Thrilled to Join PointsBet
In a statement, the industry veteran Sulsky said that he is thrilled to join PointsBet. He acknowledged that the legalization of single-game sports betting is in its final chapter and he is looking forward to the launch of a genuine Canadian platform. According to him, such a platform will not only create jobs within the industry but also offer sports fans in Canada an unrivaled entertainment and experience. Sulsky did not miss saying that as an international company, PointsBet is “embracing what it means to be Canadian“. This, according to him, proves PointsBet’s commitment to providing unique experiences for sports fans.
