Genting UK Drops Sports Betting to Focus on iGaming
Genting UK is no longer interested in sports betting and will focus on the iGaming market only. SkillOnNet network has announced an agreement to operate the company’s Genting Casino brand and domain for an undisclosed fee.
Genting UK Leaves Sports Betting in Favor of iGaming
Genting UK, the UK division of global gambling operator Genting Group, has announced it is leaving the sports betting industry. Instead, the company will work on the expansion of its online casino products through a new deal with platform provider SkillOnNet. The agreement makes Genting Casino part of SkillOnNet’s network and the casino software supplier will operate Genting’s brand and domain for an undisclosed fee.
Amazon Prime Gaming, which is also behind brands such as MegaCasino, ICE36 and Slingo, will market Genting Casino on SkillOnNet. The objective of Genting is to extend its online reach across Europe and, in particular, in the UK, Swedish, Danish, German and Maltese markets.
The launch of Genting Casino on the SkillOnNet network aligns with our strategy of taking well-known brands and products with untapped potential and using our experience and expertise to turn them into market-leading online casinos.”
Maor Nutkevitch, head of corporate development, SkillOnNet
Maor Nutkevitch, head of corporate development for SkillOnNet, explains that the company has collaborated with Amazon Prime Gaming on similar projects in the past, in particular, the launch of Slingo.com. In February 2020, SkillOnNet announced its agreement to power and license Slingo.com. The deal was meant to expand Slingo.com’s global footprint through access to new markets and to provide the site’s players with access to over 3,000 games.
SkillOnNet Builds on Previous Success
Nutkevitch described the deal with SkillOnNet as a great success and expressed his hopes that the operator will be able to repeat this with Genting Casino by enhancing the player experience.
Genting is a household name and we are delighted to be launching Genting Casino via the SkillOnNet network. This is the absolute best platform for an online casino and we believe it will enable us to unlock the full potential of this new Genting brand.”
Jack Davies, Prime Gaming
Genting UK’s website says that the company’s operations include 32 UK casino licenses, gentingcasino.com, gentingbet.com and Resorts World Birmingham. In addition, there is a 33rd casino located in Cairo, Egypt, according to the website. Genting UK explains that since entering the UK in 2006, it has renovated and built various new premises to offer customers gaming and entertainment services.
