Flutter Promotes a Paddy Power Online Sports Director from Within

Branigan said that this would have been his dream role 10 years ago and added that he is excited to work with Flutter

Global sports betting, gaming and entertainment provider Flutter has promoted from within, naming the experienced Andy Branigan as the new sports director of its Paddy Power Online brand. In this position, the appointee will be responsible for the sports operations of the company’s Irish online betting arm.

Branigan is no stranger to Flutter’s business and to the gaming sector as a whole. He joined the global gambling company in March 2021, serving an initial term as head of customer, growth and P&L. In September 2022, he was promoted to head of customer growth – a position he occupied until his recent promotion as sports director of the Paddy Power Online brand.

Speaking of Paddy Power, Branigan has previously worked with the operator. Between 2016 and 2021, the appointee spent almost five years with the brand, serving it in a variety of capacities. His time with the Irish operator saw him serve as a finance business partner, senior performance manager and head of performance & operations.

Branigan’s impressive track record also includes almost four years at Betfair and an internship at AMP Capital.

Branigan Said This Would Have Been His Dream Job 10 Years Ago

Branigan shared news of his new appointment on LinkedIn and expressed his excitement about his new position. He said that this would have been his dream role 10 years ago and added that he is excited to work with Flutter.

If you had asked me 10 years ago to name my dream role, this would have been it. Proud to have made it happen, excited for the challenge ahead, and grateful for the opportunities that Flutter continues to provide.

Branigan is not the only recent appointment to Flutter’s team. A few weeks earlier, the company designated Cheryl Bosi as its new chief people officer for the United Kingdom and Ireland, further reinforcing its team in the region.

In the meantime, the global betting and gaming provider continues to consider a shift of its primary listing from London to New York.
