Finnplay Promotes Sari Aitokallio to Managing Director Role

Finnplay Technologies announced its founder Martin Prantner decided to step aside from his role as managing director and the online casino technology and services provider will replace him with Sari Aitokallio.

Internal Promotion

Also a founding partner, Sari Aitokallio who has been serving as chief commercial officer since 2018, boasts decades-long experience on executive level related to international business and finance, including as chief financial officer for other Finnish public traded companies.

Sari Aitokallio’s resume who is a lawyer by education also features an executive role at Finnish industrial machinery company Metso, provider of technology and services for process industries such as mining, oil and gas, recycling, pulp and paper and others.

Non-Executive Role

Stepping aside from his managing director role Martin Prantner will undertake a new position as non-executive director and chairman of the board of Finnplay and will focus on strategy, new market development and partnerships.

Prantner hailed Sari’s strong international business and finance background and experience, and his significant contribution as chief commercial officer at Finnplay to help place the company on a growth trajectory and expand into new markets, alongside large established international operators.

Nordic Markets Expansion

In December 2020, the Nordic supplier of iGaming technology and services announced it expanded its presence in the region by opening a new office in Tallinn to enhance its software development capabilities.

The country is largely recognized as one of the technology development hubs in Europe, boasting a large pool of highly skilled talent in software development, including specialists in the iGaming industry. Finnplay’s new office team of 9 will focus on product innovation and customer development in all three core areas of the company’s expertise, Responsible Gaming, Fraud and Risk Analytics.

In November, Finnplay expanded into the Lithuanian market and strengthened its position as the leading platform provider in Northern Europe after an agreement with Amber Gaming, to create a new casino and sportsbook brand in the country built on Finnplay’s highly compliant Titan platform.
