EuroMillions Ticket in the UK Wins $35M Prize on Friday

Last week was marked by a jackpot bonanza. A person won $14.29 million jackpot from the National Lottery in the United Kingdom on Saturday, but even before that, another anonymous winner secured the eye-watering $35 million prize from the EuroMillions lottery game on Friday, October 3.

Both wins occurred in the UK, with the EuroMillions victor getting the winning numbers right: 6, 12, 18, 25, 45 and Lucky Star numbers of 2 and 6. Allwyn’s senior winners’ adviser, Andy Carter, has welcomed the person who won, and said:

“Players are now urged to check their tickets and to give us a call if they think they are tonight’s lucky winner.”

Lotteries are keen to quickly identify the winners so that they can move forward by offering them financial and emotional advice and moving the jackpot money out of their custody and into the winners’ accounts.

The money can be claimed within 180 days. There have been cases in which the winner never shows up, including the $103 million ticket reported earlier this year. Any unclaimed winnings are forwarded to the National Lottery’s Good Causes Fund, supporting various charitable projects.

Big Wins Continue to Drop All Over the UK, and Beyond

EuroMillions jackpots have been dropping quite often in the United Kingdom, with two previous huge wins occurring – one in January, when someone secured a GBP 83 million win, and one on Valentine’s Day, when another person scooped up GBP 65 million.

Big jackpots have been habitually dropping in the United Kingdom, and especially from the EuroMillions lottery game. The largest-ever sum won from the game in the country is the GBP 195 million that was secured back in 2022.

A family in Cork, Ireland, however, won GBP 216 million in July, adding to the big winner numbers. Elsewhere in Europe, EuroMillions jackpots have also been dropping, with a EUR 210 million prize yet to be claimed in France.
