COVID-19 May Delay the Opening of Virgin Hotels in Las Vegas

The owner of Virgin Hotels Las Vegas, JC Hospitality revealed a statement that while the redesign is currently on track, the opening date may be delayed. The owner group said that by mid-September it will release a new opening date.

Friday, August 21, JC Hospitality, the owner of Virgin Hotels Las Vegas released a statement outlining that the venue meets the construction timelines. “Construction of Virgin Hotels Las Vegas remains on schedule and the operations team is expected to receive the keys to the property in early November,” said Richard Bosworth, President and CEO of JC Hospitality.

Further to the statement, Bosworth said that due to the current COVID-19 regulations, market conditions and convention cancellations, the ownership group is re-evaluating the date for the reopening. Previously the hotel was planned to open this fall but the current circumstances may result in delay. Bosworth outlined that the group expects to have a new date by mid-September. In conclusion, he said that the company will reveal further details soon.

The Reimagined and Re-Conceptualized Casino Resort

The casino resort Virgin Hotels Las Vegas will be reimagined and re-conceptualized. The property will be a part of the Curio Collection by Hilton. The 24-hour integrated casino resort will also offer plenty of food and beverage options as well as live music, events spaces, an enormous pool area and more. The resort will offer 1,505 hotel chambers. With a total of 12 dining venues, the entertainment place will be able to accommodate the staggering amount of 4,500 guests.

Virgin Hotels Las Vegas will be the first tribal casino in the City. The 60,000 square-foot casino is going to be operated by Mohegan Gaming & Entertainment. According to the Virgin Hotels statement, the casino floor is going to be completely conceptualized and will feature a striking new design with a “modern desert vibe”.

Visitors of the Virgin Hotels Las Vegas will be able to choose whether to stay in the Ruby, Opal or Canyon luxurious hotel towers. According to the company, each chamber is going to include the Virgin Hotels patented bed as well as in-room technology. The newly refurbished venue will also feature a five-acre tropical paradise resort pool area.

In order to make “the casino-resort the most integrated in Las Vegas” the company recruited leading design, architecture and construction partners. Among the companies we find Rockwell Group, Klai Juba Wald Architecture + Interiors, Studio Collective, Taylor International Corporation and McCarthy Building Companies, who are currently in the process of redesigning and developing the property. The company also said that additional partners will be revealed soon.
