Can Canada Prove Oddsmakers Wrong?

Canada can count itself lucky for getting to the Final Four of the 2024 Copa America. This is because they haven’t been great on the field since the start of the tournament. In the group stage, they lost 2:0 to Argentina, beat Peru 1:0, and drew 0:0 with Chile. As a result, they finished second in the group and got to play against Venezuela in the quarterfinal.

It was a tough game, which finished 1:1 in regulation. After two sets of extra times, a penalty shootout decided the victor – it was Canada. They advanced to the semifinal where they were met by Argentina once again. History repeat itself and Canada lost 2:0.

Are they in for another loss? Betting odds sure suggest so, which is probably because Canada’s not great offensively. These guys scored only two goals in regulation in five games of the 2024 Copa America.

Can Uruguay Bounce Back After a Soul-Crashing Defeat to Colombia?

Uruguay looked great until the semifinal, especially following the win over Brazil. However, in the semifinal, they lost 1:0 to 10-men Colombia despite attacking with all they had for more than 45 minutes.

The worst thing is that some of Uruguay’s players lost their nerves which caused huge problems for everyone. This goes especially for Darwin Nunez who got into a fight with Colombia’s fans in the stands. As a result, he could be forced to miss many games not just for Uruguay but also for Liverpool. We’re talking months of inaction.

But the big question is when will his suspension start. Will it be before or after the Uruguay vs. Canada game on July 13? No one seems to know, but one thing is certain, even if he plays, he will need to behave himself and the same applies to his teammates.

Canada vs. Uruguay Prediction

Uruguay need to show they’re gentlemen, which is why we expect to see them play non-aggressive soccer on July 13. If they cut down on fouls, we could see Canada make some good chances and potentially score a goal or two.

The bad news for the Canadians is that that probably won’t be enough as Uruguay’s roster is packed with amazing forwards. With or without Nunes, these guys are going to win.
