Caesars Entertainment, the US casino giant, announced a new deal with Columbus Exposition and Racing (CER). Under the deal inked with the horse racing operator last Friday, Caesars is going to build and operate a Harrah’s casino and racetrack located in Columbus, Nebraska.
The new venue will be located just off Highway 81 in Columbus and will cost approximately $75 million. Furthermore, the venue is expected to feature a one-mile horse racing track, as well as a 40,000-square-foot casino and sportsbook. The casino floor is expected to feature more than 20 table games and 400 slot machines. Additional amenities include retail space, as well as a restaurant. The company estimates the venue to be completed in late 2022.

Caesars’ CEO, Tom Reeg, shared his excitement in a statement by saying that when Nebraska residents voted for gaming at racetracks, the company was sure that Harrah’s was a perfect fit. He acknowledged that the company’s significant experience in the casino industry combines with a commitment toward horse racing and stressed that Caesars is looking forward to creating new experiences in Columbus by connecting the venue to the company’s nationwide Caesars Rewards network.
