World Series of Poker’s 53rd Edition Will Be Held in Las Vegas in 2022
Caesars Entertainment’s most popular gaming event on the planet World Series of Poker (WSOP) has made its daily event schedule for the 2022 tournament known to the public. Las Vegas will once again host this year’s much-anticipated WSOP that has so far rewarded winners with close to $3.3 billion in prizes.
WSOP Doors Will Open on May 31 at Bally’s Casino and Paris Casino
Poker enthusiasts eager to grab the eye-catching gold bracelet universally recognized as the top prize in the poker industry can mark May 31 on their calendars. This is the official starting date announced for this year’s event that will be held in Las Vegas after the 2020 edition had to go online because of COVID-19 restrictions. In 2021, the event that gathered 6,600 players at the Main Event returned to its in-person format play at the end of September 30 at the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino in Vegas where WSOP had already counted 17 previous editions. Rio is located approximately one mile off the strip.
This year, the poker tournament with the longest run in history event will once again be held at two prestigious casinos on the Strip, Bally’s Hotel & Casino and Paris Hotel & Casino. The event that was first organized in 1970 has had Caesars Entertainment as its main sponsor since 2004. In 2020, Caesars also became WSOP’s main owner.
Bally’s Hotel & Casino will soon turn into Horseshoe as part of its rebranding strategy will have the honor of hosting the start of the event on 31 May. Bally’s will be joined by Paris Hotel & Casino and participants attending the opening weekend will enjoy WSOP’s Housewarming event featuring a massive $5 million prize pool. The event’s end date was set for 20 July.
As expected due to the two-venue strategy, WSOP will reach a new milestone in terms of size. The 2022 WSOP is anticipated to be the largest poker tournament capacity in its impressively long history. The event will benefit from more than 200,000 square feet of space that will be used for the 600 poker tables part of the tournament.
WSOP 2022 Will Be Packed with First-Class Poker Events
The event that features a huge plethora of tournaments belonging to all-important poker variations creates massive broadcasting and digital media partnerships and huge corporate sponsorships with each new edition. This year will be no different, in the context of the daily events schedule packed with top-tier events that will make WSOP the most anticipated event to date. With a $10,000 No-Limit Hold’em World Championship, the all-new $1,000 Buy-In Million Dollar Bounty with a mystery bounty worth $1 million, the Mid-stakes Events with added $2,000 and $3,000 no-limit events, or GGPoker’s 1,000 Buy-In Flip and Go, WSOP 2022 will draw a huge crowd. Last December, GGPoker made the news of its second $100M WSOP Winter Online Circuit official.
CBS Sports will broadcast at least 18 live events in real-time over the course of the three-week event. Participants who can register online and in-person will not be asked to provide any Covid-19 vaccination proof. However, they will need to comply with Nevada’s local guidelines. With the WSOP Online bracelet events back in business as well as Double Up Bracelet Days announced in June and July, online poker aficionados also have reasons to rejoice.
