Tai Tuivasa Desperate for a Win

Tai Tuivasa is 14-6 overall, with his first three losses happening from December 2018 to October 2019. He lost three fights in a row – to Junior Dos Santos, Blagoy Ivanov, and Serghei Spivac.

He then went on to win five fights in a row, before entering another losing skid. It all started with a KO loss to Cyril Gane in September 2022, after which he lost by the same method to Sergei Pavlovich just three months later.

Bam Bam’s most recent loss happened in September 2023 when Alexander Volkov beat him by submission. Now, he’s looking to bounce back, and bookies suspect his plan might work.

The thing is that Tuivasa is way more powerful than his next opponent. He’s got the nuclear option in his fists, with 13 of his 14 wins happening by knockout/technical knockout. And that’s exactly what tends to work against Tybura.

Will We See Tybura Get KO-ed?

Marcin Tybura is a well-rounded heavyweight with a 24-8 overall record. He’s got great striking and is great when it comes to wrestling and grappling.

However, there’s one thing that needs to worry him ahead of the fight with Bam Bam. His chin might not be strong enough – five of his eight losses happened by KO/TKO.

Truth be told, four of those were TKOs, with Tybura getting sent to la la land only once in his career. It happened back in 2018 when Derrick Lewis KO-ed him. The bad news for him is that he’s now fighting a guy who might be as equally powerful as Lewis.

Tai Tuivasa vs. Marcin Tybura Prediction

The thing about Tuivasa is that he’s got the ability to flat any opponent on the planet. The key to beating this guy is to find a way to keep him at a distance. In five of his six losses, he landed under 30 strikes. In the fight with Sergei Pavlovich, he landed only 2 strikes.

So, the big question is whether Tybura can dodge Bam Bam’s strikes? We don’t think so, especially considering that he’s not much taller than him nor does he have a significant reach advantage.

The last three guys that defeated Tuivasa had a reach at least 5 inches longer than him. Tybura only has a three-inch reach advantage, which we don’t think is enough to keep Bam Bam at a distance.

Pick: Tai Tuivasa
