SharpLink Gaming, a provider of innovative tech-driven sports fan activation solutions for the sports betting industry, welcomed the experienced Dave Abbott as its new chief technology officer. Abbott joins the company from the famous sports tech company Sportradar where he served as a managing director.
The New CTO Brings Years of Experience
Abbott has over two decades of experience with leading technology companies. He is well-versed in transformational innovational and platform growth and has intimate knowledge of customer relationship management software.
As mentioned, Abbott’s previous experience includes an eight-year tenure at Sportradar. At first, he joined the sports specialist as senior vice president of innovation and technology. Abbott was later promoted to managing director of US Sports media – a position he held until his departure.
The appointee’s experience at Sportradar is an impressive addition to his track record, considering the brand’s popularity. The Swiss sports tech firm currently serves more than 1,700 sports federations, media outlets and sports betting companies in 120 countries all over the world.
SharpLink’s new hire is also known as an avid sports industry speaker who often takes part in sports industry conferences and trade events. He has also volunteered to mentor the CEOs of many software startups in association with the Minnesota Emerging Software Advisory.
The New Hire Will Rejoin Old Friends
Abbott will now join SharpLink with an immediate effect, bringing deep technical expertise in CRM software, data integration and architecture, and productization. His task will be to inspire and grow the engineering teams, drive SharpLink’s tech roadmap forward and contribute to the company’s goal of becoming the go-to provider for game-changing technologies for fantasy and F2P games.
Speaking about his new position, Abbott said that he is joining SharpLink at a perfect moment. He said that he is delighted to rejoin some of his former SportsData and Sportradar colleagues, such as Rob Phythian and Tom Masterman. Abbott added that their reunion attests to their strengths, dedication to excellence and shared values and ethics.
The new hire said that he is excited to once again have the opportunity to work with Phythian and Masterman and is looking forward to expanding SharpLink in the US.
I have great confidence that SharpLink will prove to be our biggest success, yet.
Dave Abbott, CTO, SharpLink
Rob Phythian, SharpLink’s co-founder and chief executive officer, said that Abbott has been his friend for a long time. Because of their memories and successes together, Phythian is glad to once again be on the same team as Abbott.
I have first-hand knowledge of and appreciation for his vision, skill and ability to create and monetize bleeding-edge innovations and impactful solutions.
Rob Phythian, CEO, SharpLink
