Real Madrid’s Ambitions are Sky-High
In the previous phase of the Champions League, Los Blancos annihilated Manchester City. First, they beat them 3:2 in England, then they beat them 3:1 in Spain.
They’ve been also doing great in Spanish La Liga, where they’re leading a title race with Barca and Atleti. They want to win both of those competitions, which sounds overly optimistic, but this is an ambitious bunch of players.
Their ambitions are justified by the quality of their players, particularly those whose role is to create chances and score goals.
With players like Jude Bellingham, Vinicius Jr., and Kylian Mbappe in the final third, these guys have nothing to worry about scoring, even against such a defensive powerhouse as Atletico. But can they keep their net safe?
Atleti are in a Goal-Scoring Mood
It’s been a challenging couple of weeks for Atletico Madrid and things are going to get even harder soon. But these guys don’t seem to mind.
They’re still in the race for the Spanish title and have a good chance to advance to the final of the Spanish Cup. In fact, they played 4:4 with Barcelona in the first leg of the Copa del Rey semifinal last Tuesday.
It was the 9th time in a row that they scored at least one goal. The game before that, we saw them put away three goals against Valencia.
Their top scorer is Julian Alvarez with 20 goals in all competitions this season, followed by Antoine Griezmann with 16 and Alexander Sorloth with 13.
Despite conceding four goals to Barcelona last Tuesday, their defense is still pretty good. In fact, Atleti are one of the best teams on the planet when it comes to defending.
Real Madrid vs. Atletico Madrid Prediction
We think that Real Madrid is the best team in the world. Atletico Madrid isn’t far behind, but we don’t think Diego Simeone’s boys can do anything against Los Blancos at Santiago Bernabeu.
Sure, they won’t surrender without a fight, which is why we expect to see at least three goals in total on Tuesday. However, our prediction is that Real Madrid will score at least one goal more. If we had to guess the correct score, we’d go with 2:1 for the hosts.
