IG Group Welcomes Fintech Heavyweight Breon Corcoran as CEO

IG Group Holdings, a UK-based online trading provider, has announced the appointment of Breon Corcoran to its leadership team. According to the company’s official announcement, the new appointee will assume the role of the group’s new chief executive officer from January 29, 2024.

In addition to taking the lead at IG Group, Corcoran will also join the company’s board of directors. His appointment is still subject to regulatory approval, the trading provider added. IG Group also pointed out that this appointment “concludes a comprehensive global search process undertaken by the board.”

Charlie Rozes, the company’s incumbent interim chief executive and chief financial officer and will retain these positions until Corcoran officially joins the company. Following that, Rozes will step down as CEO but will continue to serve as group CFO and board member.

IG Group described Corcoran as an experienced individual with a proven track record of leading multinational financial technology companies and bolstering their growth. His past experiences include a tenure as CEO of the payments specialist WorldRemit, as well as CEO of Paddy Power Betfair. His earlier career saw him work as a derivatives trader at Bankers Trust and JP Morgan.

Corcoran currently serves as non-executive chairman at Auction Technology Group, a digital marketplace business.

Mike McTighe, IG Group’s chairman, welcomed Corcoran to the team, noting that his appointment comes in the wake of a comprehensive global search. He praised the appointee as a proven leader in high-performing teams within international organizations and highlighted Corcoran’s ability to deliver results for stakeholders.
