Edmonton Oilers vs. Florida Panthers 2024 NHL Odds, Time, and Prediction
Edmonton Oilers vs. Florida Panthers is the matchup of the Stanley Cup Final 2024
The Edmonton Oilers have been passionately waiting for the Stanley Cup victory since 1990, will their wait finally be over this year? Not if you’re asking the Florida Panthers who are eager to win their first-ever Stanley Cup.
Oddsmakers seem to agree. They see the Panthers as slight favorites to win the series, but especially Game 1. They’re seen as 1.5-point favorites, which isn’t too surprising given that they’re playing at home. But if there’s a team that can beat them in Florida, it’s Edmonton.

Edmonton Oilers Ready to Go All-In
The Oilers lost both of their regular-season games with the Panthers. In Florida, it was 5-3, while in Canada, the Panthers beat them 5-1. However, in the three duels before those, the Canadian team won each time.
Another good news for the Edmonton fans is that their players seem to be in the fight mode. They’re determined to give everything in their power to bring the Stanley Cup back to Edmonton after 24 years.
More good news is that the Oilers have some amazing players on the roster, starting with Connor McDavid who finished the regular season in tied-first spot on the list of top assist-makers with 100. He’s been even better since the start of the NHL Playoffs, making 26 assists and scoring 5 goals so far.
They also have Zach Hyman who’s currently the scoring leader in the postseason. There’s also Leon Draisaitl with 10 goals in the Playoffs and 18 assists.
Florida Panthers Looking for Their First Trophy
This is going to be the second time in a row that the Florida Panthers are playing in the Stanley Cup Finals. They failed to win it last time, but bookies are giving them good odds to win their first Stanley Cup ever.
The main reason is that these guys have been great throughout the 2024 campaign. Florida’s strongest weapon is team spirit. The Panthers work great as a collective, which explains why they score a lot without conceding too many goals.
In the regular season, they scored 268 goals, which is fewer than just four teams in the Eastern Conference. They conceded just 200 goals, which is better than any other team in the East.
Edmonton Oilers vs. Florida Panthers Prediction
The Florida Panthers are favored to win Game 1 for a reason, but we think the Edmonton Oilers are going to give them real war on June 8. They’re coming to Florida to give all they’ve got, which promises a great game, probably with plenty of goals on both ends. Even though we do think the Panthers are more likely to win, we just can’t see them cover the 1.5-point spread in Game 1.
Pick: Edmonton Oilers +1.5
