Cordish to Open a New Venue on January 19 in Pennsylvania

Live! Casino and Hotel Philadelphia, the new Cordish Companies resort in Pennsylvania will open for visitors on January 19. The luxury resort features more than 2,100 slots and electronic table games as well as a luxury hotel and multiple dining and entertainment outlets.

Live! Casino & Hotel Philadelphia Opens on January 19

The global leader in entertainment and real estate, Cordish Companies, announced on Wednesday this week that a new venue will open in Pennsylvania. The new resort, dubbed Live! Casino & Hotel Philadelphia will open its doors for visitors on January 19 at 4 P.M. For the first few days, the venue will be open for reservation-only and Preview Days for Live! Rewards club members. With that in mind, guests who are not Rewards club members and want to attend can also sign up for a reservation.

An official Grand Opening which is open to the public is also planned to take place on Thursday, February 11 at 8 P.M. with approval pending from the Pennsylvania regulator. Following the Grand Opening, reservations are no longer going to be required for guests of the venue.

In a statement, Joe Billhimer, Executive Vice President at Cordish Gaming Group said that the company is beyond excited to launch its resort and bring world-class gaming and entertainment. He deemed the project as “unrivaled anywhere in the country“. In conclusion, Billhimer said that gaming, sports, and food enthusiasts as well as everyone looking for fun entertainment can stop by and experience it all.

New Workplaces and Tax Benefits for the City

During the construction of the new venue, there were some 5,000 construction jobs created. Furthermore, to operate the new venue, Live! Casino & Hotel Philadelphia will be hiring up to 2,000 people in permanent positions from the surrounding areas.

The operator noted that “high preference” will be given to residents who are living close to the Stadium District as well as surrounding areas. In addition, Cordish Companies’ new venue is “committed to serve as a transformative development that will create maximum community benefits for the City of Philadelphia” and bring economic opportunities for local residents.

It is expected that the project would generate some $2 billion in economic stimulus for the city. Furthermore, some $100 million are expected to be received by the city in tax revenue for the first five years of operation.

The Luxury Resort Offers Plenty of Entertainment Options

The new Live! Casino & Hotel Philadelphia is going to offer more than 2,100 slots and electronic table games. Furthermore, there are going to be 150 live-action table games and 29 dedicated table Poker Rooms. The luxury Live! Hotel is 12-story high and features 208 rooms. Cordish Companies’ newest Pennsylvania property is also going to offer multiple dining and entertainment outlets. A state-of-the-art FanDuel Sportsbook can also be found as a part of the complex.

Besides entertainment, the new venue features an event center with six rooms that offer 15,000-square-feet of meeting space. That space can be used by groups from 12, up to 1,000 guests. The new resort also offers a surface and multi-level parking facility for convenient access by the guests.

Ensuring the guests’ safety, the new Live! Casino & Hotel Philadelphia created a special Play It Safe plan. The plan includes enhanced health and sanitation program, social distancing, and “vigorous hygiene and health measures“.
