Detroit Lions Looking Unstoppable
The Detroit Lions are 10-1 overall, which puts them at the very top of the National Football Conference (NFC). Their 2024 roster is a perfect blend of talent and experience, but they wouldn’t be as brilliant if they weren’t coached by such a tactical magician as Dan Campbell.
He’s managed to get the most out of his players, particularly those from the offensive team. In 2024, Detroit is an absolute offensive powerhouse that’s averaging 32.7 points per game – more than any other team in the league.
Quarterback Jared Goff has been in stellar form, throwing for a total of 2,761 yards and 20 touchdowns. Most of his TD passes were caught by wide receivers Amon-Ra St. Brown (9) and James Williams (4).
The Lions have also been sensational running the ball with running backs David Montgomery and Jahmyr Gibbs having 21 rushing TDs between them.
On defense, the unit has taken an enormous step forward, with Aidan Hutchinson anchoring a relentless pass rush and the secondary excelling in forcing turnovers.
Crucially, the Lions have shown mental toughness in tight games, securing key wins in clutch moments. All this has made them a serious Super Bowl contender.
Can Chicago Bears Upset the Odds on Thanksgiving Day?
The Chicago Bears have shown marked improvement in the 2024 NFL season, mostly thanks to a revitalized roster. But the fact is that this team still is still rebuilding, with many of its key players still being in their early 20s.
They don’t have much experience, but under the guidance of head coach Matt Eberflus, they’ve done relatively well. Their record is 4-7, which doesn’t seem that great, but the fact is that in most games they lost in 2024, they put on a good fight.
In their most recent game, they lost to the Minnesota Vikings by a field goal in overtime. A week before, we saw them lose to the Green Bay Packers by just one point.
Unfortunately for their fans, it was their fifth loss in a row and their seventh overall. The result of the bad run is that their chance of making the postseason is very slim. Sure, there’s a lot of time left in the regular season, but their schedule doesn’t look easy. After all, they’re playing against the in-form Lions on Thanksgiving.
Chicago Bears vs. Detroit Lions Prediction
We think that the Lions will win the Thanksgiving Day game, and they’ll do it in style. They’re in such great form, and you can be certain that they’re motivated to beat their archrivals by a huge margin. Will that margin be greater than 10.5 points? We think it will.
Pick: Detroit Lions -10.5
