Betway and Atlético de Madrid Team up for International Market

Betway has formed a new partnership with the leading La Liga soccer powerhouse, Atlético de Madrid. The partnership focuses on international markets outside of Spain and Asia and will see Betway become the official betting partner for the 11-time La Liga winner.

As is the custom with such partnerships, Betway’s official signage will be featured at Wanda Metropolitano Stadium, home to Atlético de Madrid. Betway’s intellectual property will show during both home and away games, allowing the operator to raise awareness about its products with soccer fans.

There will be other worthwhile partnership opportunities, such as social and digital content that fans can readily engage with. Betway already has a bouquet of similar alliances that allow the company to leverage its expertise in strengthening what it can offer Atlético de Madrid fans.

Executives Welcome the Alliance

Commenting on this development, Betway CEO Anthony Werkman had this to add: “We’re incredibly proud to become the official sports betting partner of the current La Liga champions, Atlético de Madrid.”

“We’re excited to have an agreement with one of the biggest clubs involved in both La Liga and the Champions League; two of the most viewed sporting competitions around the world. With a team full of internationally recognized names, this partnership will gain further exposure for our brand that has an ambitious global vision.”

Atlético de Madrid commercial director Iñigo Aznar added that the club was keen to be teaming up with Betway for operations outside of Spain, which reflects Atlético’s commitment to international growth. “We look forward to starting to work together and make this partnership a great success for both Betway and Atlético de Madrid,” Aznar added.

Betway and Atlético de Madrid are naturally targeting operations outside of Spain as the country’s gambling restrictions have increased over the past several months. Lockdown has prompted the government to seek tougher action.
