Authorities Investigate Dead Body, Fatal Fall, and Robbery Near Casinos
These incidents highlight ongoing concerns regarding security within casinos and their surrounding areas
Law enforcement in Massachusetts, Nevada, and the United Kingdom are looking into separate events connected to casinos. These range from an unknown body found in water to a deadly fall and an armed theft.
Body Found Near Encore Boston Harbor
Police in Everett, Massachusetts, began an inquiry after someone recovered a body from Boston Harbor close to the Encore Boston Harbor casino, reported WCVB. Casino security reported the find around 11 a.m. on February 8. The Everett Fire Department and Massachusetts State Police helped to retrieve the remains.
Officials still have not identified the dead person or figured out how they died. An autopsy should reveal the cause and type of death. The police have not said how long the body might have been in the water or if they found any ID.
Deadly Fall at Nevada Casino
In another case, a man fell from Harveys Lake Tahoe Hotel & Casino in Stateline, Nevada. This happened on Saturday afternoon, and the local police came to help, as reported by The Tahoe Daily Tribune.
Officials described the victim as a Hispanic man between 30 and 40 years old. Investigators noted he came to Stateline that day on a bus from Los Angeles. The man died from injuries caused by the fall. Doctors declared him dead at the scene.
Authorities are using fingerprint and DNA analysis to confirm his identity. They later identified him as Daniel Tovar, 31, from Pomona, California. An autopsy will reveal more about how he died.
Robbery Outside Milton Keynes Casino
In the UK, police arrested two people linked to a violent robbery outside Aspers Casino in Milton Keynes. The attack happened around 2:40 a.m. on Saturday when two assailants confronted a man in his 30s, reported UK local media outlet MK Citizen.
The attackers beat the victim and stole his wallet and bank cards. The man suffered facial injuries but did not need to go to the hospital.
Police took a 35-year-old man and a 36-year-old woman into custody for the crime. They are now out on bail as the investigation goes on.
The police want witnesses to come forward and are asking anyone with information to help out. These events shed light on continuing worries about safety in casinos and their surroundings. Police are looking into each case to figure out what happened in all three situations.
