The Atlanta Falcons vs. Philadelphia Eagles Monday Night Football game is guaranteed to bring us a lot of excitement. Kirk Cousins Ready to Shine for the Falcons
Kirk Cousins is one of the best passers in the history of the NFL. The former Washington and Minnesota QB is ranked eighth in the league’s all-time regular season passer ratings, as well as fights in completion percentage with 1,500+ attempts. Such a player is expected to do wonders for Atlanta’s offense in 2024.
Well, he didn’t meet the expectations on his debut, going 16-for-26 for 155 yards, one touchdown, and two interceptions in Week 1. However, that was against the Pittsburgh Steelers, who are terrific defensively. Now, he’s got a chance to do better against another team from Pennsylvania.
He’s got a 6-5 record against the Eagles in his career. When it comes to playing on the road, his record against this opponent is 3-4.
Philadelphia Eagles Need to Take the MNF Game Seriously
In Week 1, the Philadelphia Eagles defeated the Green Bay Packers 34:29. Their offense was great, with two touchdowns scored by passing and through by running the ball. Philly’s quarterback Jalen Hurts went 20-for-34 with two passing TDs and two interceptions. One of his TD passes was received by Saquon Barkley, who also scored two rushing TDs.
Philadelphia’s defense, however, wasn’t as great. In fact, they conceded more points than they did in 11 of their 17 games last season. However, there’s a caveat – the game in question was played in Brazil. In Week 2, they will play on their turf. Will they do better this time around?
Historical stats are on their side. In four of their last five games with the Falcons, they conceded under 20 points. In their most recent duel, they kept the boys from Atlanta to just 6 points. But all that was in the pre-Cousins era.
Atlanta Falcons vs. Philadelphia Eagles Prediction
We think the Eagles are the better team, but we also don’t think they’re going to blow out the Falcons. In fact, we think the visitors from Georgia are going to give them war on Monday night. That’s why our top Falcons vs. Eagles pick is Falcons +6.5.
Pick: Atlanta Falcons +6.5
