WPT and 888poker to Launch New Online Series on November 28
The World Poker Tour (WPT) in collaboration with 888poker announced new WPTDeepStacks (WPTDS) online series. The announcement came on Thursday this week as the duo is looking to roll out more tournaments for poker fans, effectively closing the year. The WPTDS online series rolls out on November 28, and will run through December 20.
The New WPTDeepStacks Series Will Feature 28 Events
Overall, there will be 28 events with more than $3 million in guaranteed prize pools up for grabs. The new online series debuts with the $525 buy-in Opening Event. The opening event starts on November 28, featuring a $200,000 guaranteed prize pool. Buy-ins for other events will vary from $55 for the Mini Main Event, up to $5,200 for the Super High Roller event. On the other hand, WPT revealed that satellite offers for the events begin at only $0.01.
Poker fans around the world will be able to enjoy online streaming of the final tables for six of the WPTDS events. The streaming will start with the final table for the Opening Event on Monday, November 29. Poker fans will also be able to watch the final tables for the $525 PKO (Event #9), $2,100 High Roller (Event #11), $888 Crazy 8 (Event #17) as well as the $5,200 Super High Roller (Event #25). The final table for the WPTDS Main Event, which will take place on Tuesday, December 21, will also be streamed online.
According to WPT, talents such as Tony Dunst, Matt Savage and 888poker’s Nick Wealthall and David Tuchman “will call the action.” It is expected that 888poker brand ambassadors Sofia Lovgren, Vivian Saliba, Dominik Nitsche and Sam Abernathy to join multiple events.
The Online Series Grant Poker Fans Unique Opportunity for Big Prizes
Amit Berkovich, head of 888poker revealed that the network is delighted to join forces with WPT. He acknowledged that the new series provides “the prestige and the feel of the live circuit, while on a phone or laptop.” Berkovich added that at the same time, the WPTDS grants poker pros and casual players a chance for glory.
