La Roja Hoping to Start Their 2024 Euro Campaign With a Big Win

Spain is one of the top favorites to win the 2024 Euro, which is no surprise given that this team is packed with amazing players. The problem is that most of them are still very young, including Nico Williams (21 years old), Pedri (21), Lamine Yamal (21), and so on.

La Roja also have some players in their 30s, including their captain Alvaro Morata (31) and full-backs Jesus Navas (38) and Dani Carvajal (32).

Apart from having a very talented roster in 2024, the Spain national team also has a very good history in games against Croatia. The last time they met, they beat them in the final of the UEFA Nations League. Before that, they beat them in the round of 16 of the previous Euro.

Croatia’s Confidence is Sky-High Ahead of the Euros

In their last outing, the Checkered Ones beat Portugal on the road 2-1. It was a friendly game, but they put on a really good performance with veteran midfielder Luka Modric scoring one goal and Ante Budimir being the other scorer.

Both of these guys are expected to play an important role in the 2024 Euro, but Croatia’s key men in this tournament will probably be their defenders, particularly Bayer Leverkusen’s Josip Stanisic and Manchester City’s Josko Gvardiol.

These guys are great defensively, but they also tend to do a very good job on the offense. Croatia’s offensive department will need all the help it can get as they don’t look too dangerous. Apart from the aforementioned Budimir, Croatia also has Osasuna’s Andrej Kramaric in the attacking department, along with four players from Croatia’s domestic league – Ivan Perisic, Bruno Petkovic, Marko Pjaca, and Marco Pasalic.

Spain vs. Croatia Prediction

Our prediction for this game is that Spain will be the one to dominate. La Roja’s players will probably keep the ball in their possession for roughly two-thirds of the time, but we doubt they’ll be able to turn the possession into a big win. Instead, we think the most they can score is two goals. Luckily for them, Croatia probably won’t score at all.

Pick: Spain & Under 2.5 Goals
