Michigan Woman Spends Winnings on More Tickets, Hits Jackpot

Lottery players who win small sums would often face a dilemma whether to use the money they won to buy more tickets or not. Usually, the sensible thing is to keep the winnings and return another day. However, a 55-year-old woman from Montcalm County proved that this is not always the case.

The Michigan woman, who preferred to remain anonymous, won a few dollars from a winning ticket and decided to reinvest the money in another shot at the Jackpot Slots Fast Cash jackpot. To her surprise, the jackpot is exactly what she won.

The winning ticket was purchased at the Trufant Gas and Party Store station on February 26, netting the lucky woman some $791,957. The woman later claimed her prize at the lottery’s headquarters in Lansing.

The Woman Plans to Traven and Help Her Kids

In an interview, the unnamed woman commented on the matter, expressing her excitement about the win. She said that she had initially bought a few tickets because she saw the Fast Cash jackpot increasing.

The woman’s initial tickets won her a few dollars. Instead of keeping them, the woman cashed them in at the aforementioned cash station and bought another ticket. This small decision quickly turned into a $791,957 payday.

The woman said that the clerk initially thought that there might be something wrong with the machine when she saw a message prompting them to file a claim at the Lottery office. It was then the Montcalm County woman suspected that she might have struck a big prize.

When she [the clerk] handed the ticket to me, I saw the three jackpot symbols right away and knew I had won the jackpot! I wanted to get the ticket home and in a safe place ASAP, so I rushed to my car and drove straight home.

The lucky woman commented on her plans about the jackpot, saying that she plans to use the money to take a vacation and help her kids. The jackpot winner said that she plans to invest the rest of the money.

This is not the first time this year a Michigan player has struck gold. In January, a player from the Great Lakes State won the life-changing $842 million Powerball jackpot. In January 2021, on the other hand, a Mega Millions player won a staggering $1.05 billion.
