Los Angeles Galaxy Is a Real Offensive Powerhouse
In the regular season of the 2024 MLS, Los Angeles Galaxy scored 69 points, which was more than any other team in the Western Conference. Their offensive form improved even more in the postseason.
In their most recent game, we saw them score six goals against Minnesota United. Before that, they beat Colorado 4:1 on the road and 5:1 in LA. Those 15 goals were scored by five different players, namely, Gabriel Pec, Dejan Joveljic, Riqui Puig, Joseph Paintsil, and John Nelson.
These guys are incredibly productive, but can they handle the Sounders? Their record against this team isn’t great, with just two wins in the last ten meetings. Plus, in the last four Galaxy vs. Sounders duels, the boys from LA scored just three goals.
Seattle Sounders to “Park the Bus” in Front of Their Goal
The Sounders are a defensive-minded team, and this strategy seems to be working out for them. Each of their last four games ended in a tie after 90 minutes of regular time. The last three of those, they won by penalties.
Another proof of their great defense is that they haven’t conceded more than just one goal in their last seven MLS games. Further, the most goals they conceded in a game this season in the US top-flight was three. This happened against LAFC and San Jose. Can the same happen against another California-based team?
Los Angeles Galaxy vs. Seattle Sounders Prediction
Our prediction for the Western Conference Final is that LA Galaxy’s players will attack most of the time, while the Sounders are going to defend with all 11 players. So, the big question is whether Galaxy’s players are creative enough to tear down Seattle’s defensive wall – we think they are.
And once they do it, the Sounders will have no other option but to try and fight back. In turn, this will open room for Galaxy’s counterattacks, at least a couple of which should result in a goal. That said, we do think this game will see three or more goals in Seattle’s net.
