Leeds Encouraged by the Big Win in the Semifinal

Leeds qualified for the 2024 Championship Final after beating Norwich 4-0 in the previous stage of the Play-Offs. After 0-0 in Norfolk, the boys from Yorkshire destroyed the Canaries at home in what was one of their best performances of the year.

However, before the Play-Offs started, Leeds lost the final two games of the regular season, thus failing to get a direct ticket to the Premier League. One of those two losses happened to Southampton.

The game in question was played in Leeds and the hosts did okay. They were unlucky to concede two goals from the opposition’s four shots on goal.

Is Southampton Premier League Material?

Many of the players who played for Southampton during this team’s Premier League days are still on the roster – Adam Armstrong, Che Adams, Stuart Armstrong, etc. What this suggests is that the Saints’s plan after relegation was to get back to the Prem quickly.

This is why it’s kind of surprising that they failed to finish in one of the two top spots and book a direct ticket to the English top flight. Instead, they finished fourth.
