Las Vegas Resorts Seek to Help Evacuees with Discounted Rooms and Services

Multiple casino hotels, including Resorts World, Commerce Casino, Treasure Island, South Point, Virgin, and others have been among the first to announce that they will assist evacuees by offering discounted rooms and boarding for people affected by the Californian wildfires that have gobbled up hundreds of homes, and razed to the ground entire living areas.

Casino Hotels Offer Evacuees Discounted Room Rates

The fires, which are still ongoing across the West Coast, and have reached Hollywood, have displaced at least 100,000 people as of the time of writing.

In a statement published on Thursday, Resorts World Las Vegas confirmed that between January 9 through January 17, the property will offer residents of Los Angeles and the surrounding areas a 35% discount on the rooms and suites at both the Hilton and Conrad hotel towers.

Guests will have a quick way of navigating the red tape, too, as they will simply have to call room booking at 702-676-7036 and say that they are requesting the LA Support Rate.

Other resorts have been quick to pounce at the very same opportunity and show solidarity with affected people, with the Fontainebleau Las Vegas offering support to people displaced by the fire. Bookings are available at 833-702-7272. A statement from the resort said:

“Our hearts go out to those who are affected by the devastating fires in Southern California. While a tragedy like this is unfathomable, we look to offer a safe place of rest and refuge during this heartbreaking time.”

Treasure Island Las Vegas is taking things a bit further, offering discounts through January 31, 2025, subject to availability. The room rate has been set at $79 and anyone looking to book accommodation would need to call 1-800-288-7206. Residents need to tell the service that they are calling for discounted rates.

Non-for-profit Organizations Join the Humanitarian Foray

Wynn Resorts in the meantime said that it will donate $1 million to two organizations that are currently assisting people and part of the humanitarian response to the crisis.

The company is allocating $700,000 to the American Red Cross and another $300,000 to the Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation. The company said that it remained ready to assist anyone in effect in any way that it could.

In the meantime, residents of Las Vegas can do further to assist people in Southern California by offering them temporary housing through Airbnb.org and 211 LA. Airbnb.org is the non-profit division of the popular booking company, which matches people who need temporary housing, usually the result of natural disasters, with homeowners who are willing to provide it.

211 LA is a similar non-profit that seeks to connect people in need of resources with donors. Airbnb.org will not charge fees to guests and owners.
