Dallas Cowboys vs. Washington Commanders Week 12 Odds, Time, and Prediction

Dallas Cowboys vs. Washington Commanders Week 12 game is bound to be an exciting affair as it’s really high time for Mike McCarthy’s boys to show up. The bad news for them is that NFL odds suggest they’re going to lose the battle at Northwest Stadium on Sunday afternoon

The Dallas Cowboys are 3-7 in the 2024 NFL, with five losses in a row. Their under-pressure coach Mike McCarthy could lose his job if they lose again. In fact, there are reports that he’s preparing for that scenario – he’s already put his Texas mansion up for sale.

Although their future looks grim, not everything is lost yet for the Cowboys. If they beat the Washington Commanders in Week 12, they’ll be able to challenge for a spot in the postseason. The bad news is that without quarterback Dak Prescott leading their offense, they don’t look capable of dealing with the boys from the US capital.

Have the Dallas Cowboys Already Given Up on the 2024 NFL?

Things aren’t looking great for the Dallas Cowboys who are without their crucial player Dak Prescott. He suffered a season-ending injury in Week 9, but even while he was on the team, the Cowboys did not look great offensively.

Without him, they’re much, much worse. Their season average is 118.7 points per game, but in the two games they played without Prescott at QB, they scored a total of just 16 points. His replacement Cooper Rush isn’t an elite player, but he did do kind of okay in the Cowboys’ previous game.

The 30-year-old Michigan native went 32-for-55 for 354 yards, one touchdown, and one interception in Monday’s game against the Texans. Obviously, that’s not enough for a win, especially not considering that Dallas’ running game was dreadful.

Still, it’s their defense that was really embarrassing. They conceded 34 points, and the worst thing is that such a thing has become the new normal for them. The Cowboys are the NFL’s second-worst defense, conceding 29.3 points per game.

Washington Commanders Seen as Huge Favorites in Week 12

It’s been a while since the boys from Washington were such big favorites as they are head of the Week 12 game. They’re seen as 10-point favorites, and it’s not just because their opponents are in abysmal form. It’s also because they’ve been playing amazing football in 2024.

Dan Quinn’s men are 7-4 right now, but they did lose their last two games. To be fair to them, this happened against two really tough opponents. First, they lost by just one point to the Pittsburgh Steelers; then, they lost to the Philadelphia Eagles on the road.

Now, they’re coming back home to play against a team that’s completely out of shape. Winning this game is a must as it would spring them way closer to securing a spot in the postseason. Their schedule in the remainder of the regular season looks relatively easy, so unless they mess things up completely, they should get themselves to the playoffs.

Dallas Cowboys vs. Washington Commanders Prediction

The situation in the Commanders’ locker room is probably great, which just isn’t the case with the Cowboys. The boys from Dallas probably understand that the chance they can salvage the 2024 season is close to zero.

It’s just the opposite when it comes to Washington, whose players just need to keep their composure and win easy games such as the one scheduled for Sunday. We predict that they’re going to do it, but will they cover the 10-point spread? We think they are.

Pick: Washington Commanders -10
