Amanda Ribas Ready to Take Her Career to a Whole New Level

Amanda Ribas is 13-4 overall, with all four of her losses happening to elite fighters – Polyana Viana, Martina Rodriguez, Katlyn Chookagian, and Maycee Barber. The last two of those happened in the flyweight division, but since returning to strawweight last year, she’s 1-0.

The win in question happened against Luana Pinhero. Ribas beat her with a spinning wheel kick and punches in the third round last November. It was her fourth win by KO/TKO, while she also has four wins by submission and five by decision.

All this shows that she’s a well-rounded fighter with a lot of experience. Unfortunately for her, literally the same applies to her next opponent, Rose Namajunas.

Rose Namajunas Ready to Rise from the Ashes

Rose Namajunas is a former champ who held the UFC Women’s Strawweight title on two occasions. She’s 11-6 overall, but two of those six losses happened in her last two fights. If she loses another one, she’s in trouble.

On the bright side, Thug did not get embarrassed in her previous two bouts. First, she lost to Carla Esparza by a split decision in the title fight. Next, French fighter Manon Fiorot beat her in Paris by a unanimous decision in a fight in which Namajunas landed just two strikes fewer than her opponent.

Before those two losses, she won twice against Zhang Weili, the current champion, who’ll be defending her title in April at UFC 300.

Amanda Ribas vs. Rose Namajunas Prediction

If Namajunas wins on Saturday, she’ll have every right to dream of the title again. If she loses, however, we might not ever see her compete for the championship belt again. Sure, she’s still young (31 years), but as per her own admittance, she did consider retiring in the past.

That said, you can be certain that Namajunas will go all-in against Ribas, which is why anything but a win for Thug would be a surprise.

Pick: Rose Namajunas
