Allwyn Partners With MADIC UK for EPOS Software Rollout
Allwyn has partnered with MADIC UK for the release of a fresh EPOS software that would enable retailers to sell lotto products at checkouts that are integrated with the technology supplier’s Point-of-Sale solution
On February 1, 2024, the leading multi-national lottery operator looking to help lotteries raise more money for governments and good causes, Allwyn UK, took over as the operator of The National Lottery.
The responsibility was handed over by Camelot off the backdrop of a solid unaudited year performance that triggered double the revenue of the previous corresponding period.
Over the next decade, the operator of the Fourth Licence will focus on helping The National Lottery “change lives every day.”
As part of its plan to carry on the modernization of The National Lottery, Allwyn has recently inked a partnership with world-class technology supplier MADIC UK.
Introducing a New EPOS Software
The partnership led to the creation of a brand new EPOS software that will enable retailers to sell lotto products at checkouts that are integrated with MADIC UK’s Point-of-Sale solution.
The prototype of the new offering will be officially introduced at the National Convenience Show 2024 which will take place between April 29 and May 1 in Birmingham.
Allwyn’s director of channel operations, Alex Green, expressed their delight to partner with the technology supplier as they “continue to invest in the retail channel and in-store technology for the future.”
Green added that the decision to provide “innovative, alternative ways” to purchase National Lottery draw games will make them more easily available to a larger number of players, both new and existing.
In turn, this will help them achieve their main goal of raising more money for projects that are funded by The National Lottery.
Both parties expect their combined efforts to lead to an increase in the number of sold National Lottery draw-based games.
The list includes popular games like EuroMillions, Set For Life, Lotto, HotPicks, and Thunderball.
“Huge Milestone”
MADIC UK’s solutions management director, Emma Baillie, explained that the integration with The National Lottery and evoPOS has been an important topic on their customers’ wishlist since the launch of the product.
Baillie added that being able to work together with Allwyn and provide the solution to all of their customers in the future represented a “huge milestone” in the ongoing evolution of their product.
At the end of March, Allwyn reported strong results and growth in the fourth quarter as well as in the full year 2023.
Earlier in the same month, Allwyn was accused of having allegedly borrowed millions from two of Russia’s biggest lenders, VTB and Sberbank, according to The Guardian.
While the company behind the largest public-sector contract in the UK was not in violation of any sanctions, the controversy raised a series of concerns related to the transparency of the gambling sector and the way it could undermine the position of the UK Gambling Commission.
