But after those two losses, she went 4-0, beating Joanna Jedrzejczyk, Carla Esparza, Amanda Lemos, and Yan Xiaonan. With wins over such elite opponents, it’s no surprise that she’s seen as one of the greatest female fighters in the UFC.
Another thing going in favor of this claim is that she’s a very well-rounded fighter with great striking, amazing wrestling, and deadly grappling skills. So, why is she the underdog in the UFC 312 co-main event with +105 odds? Because Tiana Suarez is a force to be reckoned with.
Tatiana Suarez Going All-In on Saturday
The biggest fight in Tatiana Suarez’s life was the battle with cancer that she won a decade ago. The biggest fight of her MMA career is the one at UFC 312.
She’s 10-0 overall, beating some tough opponents along the way – Alexa Grasso, Carla Esparza, Jessica Andrade, etc. – but she’s never fought for the title.

Winning the UFC Women’s Strawweight title would be the pinnacle of her career, so you can be certain that she’s going to give her maximum in the Octagon on February 8. Sure, she won’t lack any motivation, but what about her fighting skills?
Well, Suarez is not only a hell of a wrestler, but also an incredible grappler. The fact that she defeated Grasso and Andrade by submission is testament of her ability to choke out opponents.
Given that just 20% of her wins came via KO/TKO, you might think that she’s not a very good boxer. However, the opposite is true. While she doesn’t land too many strikes, her punches are very precise – she hits the target almost every time.
Plus, Suarez is also very good when it comes to dodging opponents’ strikes which could come in very useful against Weili.
Zhang Weili vs. Tatiana Suarez Prediction
Our pick is Tatiana Suarez. Not only do we think that she’s got more hunger for glory than Weili, but we also think she’s at least as good a fighter as her Chinese opponent. This ius bound to be a real war, but in the end, we think Suarez will win.
Pick: Tatiana Suarez
