Sounders Want to Keep Their Good Run Going
The Sounders are in a really good run at the moment. After three straight losses at the FIFA Club World Cup in June, they went 10-3-1 (W-D-L), with their most recent win being against Los Angeles Galaxy in the 2025 Leagues Cup.
They won that game 2:0, despite having 10 men for the last couple of minutes. Further, the possession was on the Galaxy’s side, but the Californians couldn’t make it count.
Seattle’s defense and midfield did a fantastic job of keeping the opposition far from their goal. The result is that LA’s players only had nine goal chances, with just four of those aimed at the net. Can they do something similar against Lionel Messi’s Inter Miami?
Inter Miami Going All-In on Sunday
Lionel Messi came to Miami to win trophies. So far, he’s only won the Leagues Cup with Inter two years ago, which his teammates lost last year while he was away with an injury. Now, he wants to get it back, after which, the next stop is the MLS Cup.
The soccer GOAT has been in sensational form, scoring two goals in Inter’s 3:1 win over Orlando City in the semifinal of the Leagues Cup. He was phenomenal in that game, but the man of the match was his former Barcelona colleague, Jordi Alba.
The left wingback has been on form lately, scoring three goals and recording three assists in his last eight games. Another ex-Barca player, Luis Suarez, has also been playing great. The Uruguayan striker scored four goals and made three assists since the start of August.
What about Inter Miami’s defense? Well, they did concede at least one goal in each of their last eight games in all competitions. The reason behind this is that each of their defenders is actively involved in creating offensive chances.
Seatle Sounders vs. Inter Miami Prediction
We predict goals on both ends, and we think one of these teams will score at least two – Inter Miami. With Messi, Suarez, Alba, and others in great shape, the Herons look destined to win the trophy.
