A man from Yeppoon, the coastal town and the Shire of Livingstone locality in Queensland, Australia, will undoubtedly always remember the date July 27, 2024. This is because the fortunate man was one out of nearly two dozen players who secured a division one win from the drawing on that day.

The lucky Yeppoon man spoke to Lottery officials, sharing his excitement to win a sum of nearly a million dollars. Acknowledging that he was incredibly fortunate, the man, whose name was not disclosed, said: “Punch me, I’m dreaming!”

When asked what he plans to do with the lottery prize, the man said that he intends to pay off his mortgage. At the same time, the fortunate player said he would share the prize with his children. “You wouldn’t believe how much this means to us,” he added.

What’s more, the Yeppoon man said that he plans to buy his wife a massive diamond ring. “She’s going to get a big rock,” said the lucky winner. Last but not least, the man admitted to hearing stories about people who had won the lottery but never expected to be one of the lucky few who could experience it.

Last year, 176 lucky players across Australia became millionaires by playing Saturday Gold Lotto. Since the start of this year, 252 fortunate players have won division one prizes from the Lottery.

Saturday Gold Lotto draws are held every Saturday at 8:30 PM AEST. Ticket sales for the same week draw close every Saturday at 7:25 PM AEST.
