Nassourdine Imavov’s Third Fight of 2024

Nassourdine Imavov just can’t say no to fights. That’s the recipe that Sean Strickland used last year, and which earned him a shot at the title. Maybe the same can happen to Imavov?

He’s 14-4-1, with two wins happening in 2024. First, he defeated Roman Dolidze by decision; then, he beat Jared Cannonier by TKO. Another win could get him in the conversation for the title. But can he pull it off?

Well, Imavov is a well-rounded fighter with great wrestling and grappling skills, who loves punching and kicking his opponents. He also doesn’t seem to mind getting hit, which is proof of how tough he is. Another proof of his toughness is that no one ever managed to beat him by KO/TKO.

The first loss of his career happened by submission, and since then, we have seen him lose three more fights, each time by decision. This includes the loss to Sean Strickland, which was Imavov’s debut in the light heavyweight division.

Is Brendan Allen Really the Middleweight Giant-Slayer?

The American is 24-5 overall with 7 wins in a row. During his amazing run, we saw him beat such elite middleweights as Bruno Silva and Paul Craig, each by submission, as well as Chris Curtis by a split decision.

His strongest weapon is grappling, the evidence being that he won 14 fights by submission. He also hits hard but is somewhat prone to getting hit. At least that was the case a few years ago when we saw him get beaten by Custis and Strickland by TKO.

In his most recent fight – the rematch with Curtis – he absorbed 124 significant strikes but didn’t lose the fight. It was the highest number of significant strikes he’s ever absorbed in a fight, which suggests that he might have toughened up over the years.

Nassourdine Imavov vs. Brendan Allen Prediction

Born in Russia’s Republic of Dagestan, Imavov has been living in France since the age of 9. Knowing this, it’s very likely that the crowd at Accor Arena in Paris will be rooting for him. With fans being on his side, Imavov is bound to be on the front foot, going hard on his opponent in order to get a finish. Will he pull it off? We think he might.

Our prediction is that he’s going to win by KO/TKO as striking is the safest way to fight against Allen. He mustn’t let Allen take the fight to the ground, and the best way to do it is to unleash a barrage of powerful strikes from the very start.

Pick: Nassourdine Imavov
