Morocco’s Players Feeling Good About Their Chances
PSG’s wing-back Achraf Hakimi is Morocco’s biggest star and he’s been brilliant on the right side of the field since the start of the 2024 Olympic Games. He’s one of the three over 23 players, along with striker Soufiane Rahimi and goalkeeper Munir Mohamedi.
In addition to those three experienced players, some of Morocco’s youngsters have also been playing great. Midfielders Amir Richardson and Oussama Targhalline have been doing a fine job in the center of the pitch, creating many chances for pacey wingers Abde Ezzalzouli and Ilias Akhomach.
Morocco’s defensive line isn’t too great, with center-backs Medhi Boukamir and Oussama El Azzouzi making some blunders in the game with Ukraine which this team ended up losing 2:1.
Can the USMNT Do Anything Against Morocco?
Morocco’s Achilles’ heel might be its defense, but can the USMNT take advantage of it? The answer is yes, they definitely have what it takes to score some goals on August 2. The evidence of this is that the Americans scored seven goals in their last two games, after a 3:0 loss to the No. 1 gold favorite France in the first round of the Olympics.
They scored four goals against New Zealand and three against Guinea. Midfielders Kevin Paredes and Djordje Mihailovic scored two goals each, as well as created plenty of chances for their teammates.
What’s interesting is that none of the USMNT’s biggest stars scored any goals so far. Who we’re talking about are guys like the team captain Cristian Pulisic, Timothy Weah, Weston McKennie, Gio Reyna, etc.
Morocco vs. USMNT Prediction
Our prediction is that the Morocco vs. USMNT Olympics quarterfinal will see goals galore. Both teams are fantastic offensively, so it’s only logical to assume we’ll witness at least three goals on August 2. But which team will score more? We think it’s going to be the United States, mainly because their biggest stars are eager to step up.
