Manchester United Not Looking Great
Manchester United started the 2024-25 season of the Premier League with a win over Fulham at Old Trafford. It wasn’t a convincing win, however. The Red Devils won 1:0 with the winning goal scored by Joshua Zirkzee in the 87th minute of the game.
Then, in the second round of the Premier League, Erik ten Haag’s men lost 2:1 to Brighton on the road. It was a pretty even game, to be fair, but the Seagulls were slightly better, so they deservedly got themselves a win.
If they lost to Brighton, imagine what Liverpool is going to do to them on September 1! Well, not necessarily. This is one of the biggest derbies ion English soccer, so Man United players are bound to give their utmost. Plus, the game is played on their turf, so they’re almost guaranteed to give war to Liverpool. The bad news for them is that they’re welcoming the Reds at the time when they’re in top shape.
Liverpool Coming to Old Trafford for Its 3rd Win of the Season
There were some concerns that Liverpool might struggle at the start of the season as they’ve got a new coach. After nine years, Jurgen Klopp era ended this year. Liverpool’s new coach is Arne Slot, who’s got practically the same roster at his disposal as Kopp did last year as the Reds didn’t make any major signings in the summer transfer window.
Despite all this, they started the 2024-25 Premier League in top gear. They defeated Ipswich 2:0 on the road in the opening round, then went on to beat Brentford by the same score at home. Mohamed Salah scored a goal in each of those games, with practically all of Liverpool’s forwards doing great to help him find the target. Diogo Jota has also been phenomenal since the start of the season, along with Luis Diaz, Cody Gakpo, and others.
Manchester United vs. Liverpool Prediction
Liverpool did look great in the first two roudns of the 2024-25 Premier League, but the Reds still haven’t played against a really tough opponent. Their biggest challenge so far comes their way on Sunday when they play against the Red Devils at Old Trafford.
Our prediction is that this is going to be a very tough game, and we might see Liverpool concede their first goal of the season. Still, we do have faith in their attacking department. We think they’re going to score enough goals to secure another win.
