Livesport’s Flashscore Network Acquires BeSoccer’s Asset Portfolio
Livesport’s Flashscore Network has completed the acquisition procedure for BeSoccer’s asset portfolio in an undisclosed deal, marking the most significant deal in the company’s history
Livesport‘s flagship product, the Flashscore network, has successfully completed the acquisition of BeSoccer, a Spanish platform specializing in live scores, statistics, and news dedicated to soccer fans.
The Largest Acquisition in Livesport’s History
The strategic move with undisclosed terms underlines the brand’s commitment to expanding its presence in the sports tech industry, bringing an additional 25 million monthly users seeking real-time sports data into its ecosystem.
Martin Hájek, chairman of the board at Livesport, called the acquisition “the largest in the history of our company, reflecting our aspiration to remain at the forefront of the industry.”
He further added that the decision is expected to “significantly strengthen” their position in Spanish and French-speaking countries, where Málaga-based BeSoccer has hit over 100 million app downloads since its launch in 2006.
Initially a web-only portal, the company debuted its iOS and Android apps in 2013.
Hájek believes that the platform, which debuted its Android and iOS apps in 2013, along with its “territorial reach” will “perfectly“ complement Flashscore.
BeSoccer, BeSoccer Pro, and Resultados de Fútbol to Join Livesport
As a result of the acquisition, three entities will now join the Livesport portfolio: BeSoccer, BeSoccer Pro, and Resultados de Fútbol.
Each will bring specialized content for their target audience. In addition, BeSoccer’s former majority owner Manuel Heredia, who will transition into an advisory role on the board, spoke about his “dream to change the football industry with BeSoccer.”
Heredia further shared he has been “incredibly happy throughout the entire journey” and said he was “proud of what BeSoccer has become and the amazing team that has helped make it the most popular live football scores app in the world.”
Taking an “Exponential Lead Forward,” Exploring New Horizons
“Now, it’s time for BeSoccer to take an exponential leap forward with the support of Livesport, a global leader in sports information who shares our passion,” the new board advisor added.
Heredia, who also has extensive experience in “PHP development, MySQL databases, strategy, product development, mobile growth, digital advertising sales revenue growth orientation,” according to his LinkedIn, went on to express his expectations regarding the transformation of the largest football app in the world into “the ultimate project for fans and football professionals alike.”
“This is just the beginning of what BeSoccer is destined to become,” he stated.
A FlashScore statement expressed their thrill to announce that BeSoccer, which they described as “the world’s most popular football-only live score app,” has joined their family.
