Gordon Moody Becomes Redditch United’s Back-of-Shirt Charity Partner

Under the partnership, the charity will have a presence within the club’s Valley Stadium and will appear on the back of its player’s jerseys

Redditch United, an English soccer club participating in the Southern League Premier Division Central, has unveiled a new partnership with Gordon Moody, the United Kingdom’s leading charity dedicated to providing residential treatment and support for gambling-related harm.

There’s a New Name on the Back of the Shirt

Gordon Moody, which excels in supporting those affected by gambling harm and addiction, has become the latest back-of-shirt charity partner of Redditch United. This agreement will provide the charity with increased visibility, allowing it to reach more people struggling with gambling problems.

Under the agreement, Gordon Moody will serve as Redditch United’s charity partner for the upcoming 2025/26 season. The announcement was accompanied by a short promotional video in which Dean Sturridge and John Hartson, two of Gordon Moody’s ambassadors, emphasized that the partnership would not only turn Redditch United’s season around but also turn its fans’ lives around.

Under the partnership, the charity will have a presence within the club’s Valley Stadium. In addition to that, as mentioned, it will also appear on the back of its player’s jerseys.

In its official release, Redditch United said that it hopes that the partnership will leave a “lasting impact” on the Redditch community.

The Club Welcomed Gordon Moody

Redditch United’s chairman, David Faulkner, commented on the new tie-up, saying that his team is “thrilled to welcome Gordon Moody” as the club’s official charity partner. He praised the charity’s commitment to addressing harm and said that it aligns with the club’s existing commitments.

Their [Gordon Moody’s] dedication to addressing gambling-related harms aligns perfectly with our commitment to supporting the well-being of our community. Together, we can make a meaningful difference in the lives of those affected.

Gordon Moody’s chief executive officer, Monica Shafaq, was likewise pleased about the opportunity to join forces with Redditch United, saying that it represents something more than branding – “a united front to tackle gambling-related harm head-on.”

With our flagship centre now open in the heart of the town, we’re deeply committed to supporting the local community. Football has the power to bring people together, and by working with Redditch United, we hope to raise awareness, reduce stigma, and ensure that no one feels that they have to face addiction alone.

Gordon Moody Opened a Center in Redditch

The partnership comes several months after Gordon Moody opened its new flagship residential treatment center in Redditch. The new facility offers tailored residential treatment programs to those who have been seriously affected by gambling harm.

In addition to that, the charity recently appointed ex-Premier League athletes Dean Sturridge and John Hartson as official ambassadors.

Earlier this year, Gordon Moody held its International Gambling Harms Awareness Day 2025 in which it highlighted some of the risks associated with gambling and its possible emotional, financial, and social consequences.
