Gentoo Media Parts Ways with CFO Mads Haugegaard Albrechtsen

Gentoo Media, formerly GiG Media, announced on May 28 that it is parting ways with its chief financial officer, Mads Haugegaard Albrechtsen. This comes after the CFO decided to step down, although he vowed to remain around to ensure a smooth transition.

Gentoo Media’s CFO Steps Down

In its announcement, Gentoo Media stated that Albrechtsen had decided to step down, but has engaged in a “close and constructive dialogue” with the company, agreeing to ensure an orderly and responsible handover of responsibilities.

Gentoo Media clarified that Albrechtsen is a long-time member of the Gentoo team, who played an important role in the 2024 split and helped to establish Gentoo Media as a separate entity. He was also instrumental in the company’s 2025 strategic realignment.

Thanks to Albrechtsen’s hard work, Gentoo Media now enters its next phase from a leaner and more focused platform. The board of directors has already initiated the process of hiring a new chief financial officer to support the company’s next phase of development.

Albrechtsen Looks Forward to an Orderly Transition

Jonas Warrer, Gentoo Media’s chief executive officer, thanked Albrechtsen for his incredible contributions to the company. The CEO described the outgoing CFO as a dedicated and collaborative member of the team, who supported the broader business during a period of “significant change.”

Albrechtsen commented on his departure, saying that serving Gentoo Media has been a privilege. He added that he was pleased to have spent time with the company and promised to contribute to the smooth transition of his role.
